Course “Computed Tomography”

Dear colleagues,
The Bulgarian Society of Cardiothoracic Radiology and Radiology Together would like to invite you to take part in the course “Computed Tomography” geared towards radiologists, radiology residents, technicians, medical physicists and medical students.
The course will be divided into four consecutive modules, the goal of which will be to explore the foundational principles of CT: image acquisition, technical parameters having to do with image quality, and the logic behind CT protocols and how they can be tailored to specific patient groups. Members can choose to take part in any or all modules.
The first module, “The Physics behind CT”, will take place on 06.03.2020 from 13.00 h. in the aula of the Acibadem City Clinic Tokuda Hospital. The following topics will be discussed:
• basics of radiological physics
• how a CT works
• image acquisition in CT
• image quality
• physical characteristics
• fundamentals of dosimetry
• visualization, reconstruction and image post-processing
